The family of a man who died after allegedly being bashed at Manawatu Prison is demanding answers

The family of a man who died after allegedly being bashed at Manawatu Prison is demanding answers

First-time offender 36-year-old Bradley King was facing minor commercial burglary charges - but his bid for bail had been denied.

His family is today presenting a petition to MP's outside Parliament, calling for an inquiry into his death.

Sister Melissa King says it's disgraceful such a thing can happen to someone in custody.

A 29-year-old man is due to appear in the Dannevirke District Court next month in relation to King's death.
