As she embarks on another Olympic cycle, Dame Valerie Adams views her journey to a fifth Games after having two children as a triumph

The gold medal winning shot putter has been included in the group of 15 Kiwi athletes to head to the Games later this year.

Since the 2016 Rio event Adams has given birth to a daughter and son.

She says parenting duties make things tough for female athletes.

Joining Adams in the conditional team include 1500 metre runner Nick Willis, who is also set to attend his fifth Games.

Shot putters Tom Walsh and Jacko Gill, and hammer throwers Julia Ratcliffe and Lauren Bruce are also in the team.
