Rising desperation over basic needs in Canterbury

Rising desperation over basic needs in Canterbury

The not for profit Food Network has opened a Christchurch warehouse and distribution centre.

Over the past year, its Auckland centre has redistributed more than 2 million kilos of food - and provided at least 5.7 million meals.

Food Network chief Gavin Findlay says one Canterbury food hub is now supporting 60 families - up from about 27 before Covid-19.
