    northwards, including Bay of Plenty : Mostly cloudy. A few showers in the north and east, turning to widespread rain later tomorrow.

    Gisborne, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa: Mainly fine and warm with high cloud. Scattered rain later tomorrow south of Mahia

    Whanganui and Taihape to Wellington: Mainly fine today. Rain at times tomorrow.

    Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland: Showers turning to rain today. Heavy falls and possible thunderstorms about the ranges from tonight, then clearing later tomorrow.

    Marlborough and Canterbury: High cloud and the odd spot of rain. Showers later tomorrow.

    Otago and Southland : A few spots of rain today. A period of widespread rain tomorrow morning, then isolated showers and increasing fine spells.

    Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods. Rain late tomorrow.
