Police are closing in on a group of duck hunters, who allegedly injured two women in Otago

The women received minor shotgun pellet injuries while walking along a track beside the Clutha River in Alexandra last weekend.

Police say they have a number of leads they're following, after releasing photographs of two men they want to speak to about the incident.

The group of men was believed to be shooting from a boat in the river.

Police would like to speak to the group as soon as possible.
