More schools are expected to open this morning as floodwaters recede in hard-hit Mid Canterbury

More schools are expected to open this morning as floodwaters recede in hard-hit Mid Canterbury

Only a few schools were up and running yesterday with the partly re-opened Ashburton bridge, expected to create travel headaches today.

The Ministry of Education has been advising parents to check school websites first.

Throughout Canterbury 42 schools and many more pre-schools were closed yesterday.
