Invercargill City Council has moved to lower rate hikes in coming years, after push back from ratepayers

Invercargill City Council has moved to lower rate hikes in coming years, after push back from ratepayers

This year's rise will remain at 5 percent - and the following three years at 4 percent

From then on there will be lower increases of 3.75 percent to 2.5 percent

Strategy and Policy Manager Rhiannon Suter says the council listened to the public to refine its final decision.

More than 550 people and organisations had their say over two days of hearings last month, on the council's Roadmap to Renewal programme.
