That was the final peak in the rowing career of Olympic great Mahé Drysdale at the Rio Olympics

The 42-year-old has retired today after competing at four Games and was a double single sculls champion, as well as securing the bronze while recovering from illness in 2008.
Drysdale was also a five-time world champion, securing his first gold in 2005.
