Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer would "love" to return to 'True Blood'

The couple - who portrayed Sookie Stackhouse and Bill Compton in the fantasy horror series for six years until 2014 - admitted they would jump at the chance to return to the show following the news HBO are set to revive the programme, with 'Riverdale' star Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

Stephen told ''Entertainment Tonight': "I would love, love, love, love to see all of these people again and work with them again."

Anna, 38, added: "It's some of the best years of my life. I'd kick down the door to get to work with any of those people again."

And though Stephen's character died in the series, he doesn't think that should rule him out of a return.

He added: "But, spoiler alert, my character doesn't make it. I'm up for a flashback. I'm officially telling you, on ET, I'm up for a flashback."

The couple - who married in 2010 - are both ex ecutive producers on Amazon Prime series 'Flack', and Stephen also directed his wife in a number of episodes, much to Anna's delight.

She said: "He's directed me a bunch, he did a bunch of 'True Blood'. And I love it. He's a very gifted director, and I'm not just saying that because I'm his wife. He wouldn't have been asked to direct if he wasn't brilliant."

In the show, Anna portrays publicist and fixer Robin, and the pair revealed the scandals she has to spin in each episode are based on real-life dramas.

Stephen, 51, said: "Every single one has an element of truth."

Anna added: "Look, the client dramas of the week are if anything, more salacious and juicy and dark and intense than season one, and some of them are really personal storylines, because we delve a little more into her [Robin's] sort of backstory and also see the sort of home lives of a lot of the other characters, the other ladies in the office.

"It is just upping the adrenaline level by about 100 percent."
