Police are asking the public for help in finding out what caused a major house fire in Wellington

Police are asking the public for help in finding out what caused a major house fire in Wellington

On Sunday a house on Newtown's Hanson Street burnt down - with flames also destroying the house next door and damaging another two.

One person was taken to hospital.

Police say CCTV footage shows two people leaving the address separately soon after 10.30pm.

They say witnesses have come forward, but anyone else with information is urged to get in touch immediately.
