Katie Price insists she recently travelled to Turkey for "work"

The 43-year-old star has defended her decision to travel to Turkey for liposuction amid the coronavirus crisis and ongoing travel restrictions, calling it a "work trip"

A rep for Katie - who recently flew into the country with Carl Woods - told MailOnline: "Katie has travelled with her fiance to undergo a surgical procedure.

"The purpose of this travel is essential in that it is for her work, she is being filmed undergoing the operation."

Katie is set to go under the knife after gaining two stone in the past year.

And the outspoken star has justified the trip by revealing it's being filmed for her reality show.

Katie decided to make the trip even though Turkey is currently on the UK's government's red list of countries, meaning Brits should not visit "except in the most extreme of circumstances".

Last month, meanwhile, Katie revealed she will get married in trainers.

The former glamour model is still struggling with her mobility, after breaking both her feet last summer, so will opt for footwear that is both "glamorous" and comfortable when she ties the knot.

She said: "I won't be in heels. I'll have to wear trainers – but I'll make sure they're glamorous ... I've been using crutches, a Zimmer frame and hanging on to Carl some days."

Despite this, Katie teased she won't have to worry about walking down the aisle.

Asked if the walk worried her, she replied: "Who said I'll be walking down the aisle? I'm not revealing anything but it will be an entrance and a half!"

The loved-up couple are planning an unconventional wedding and Katie insisted she doesn't want the focus to all be on her.

She explained: "I want the focus on Carl as much as me, this is his special day, too. No wall-to-wall celeb faces. It’ll be about us, Carl and our family, coming together as one."
