There's still work to do when it comes to depth in New Zealand netball

There's still work to do when it comes to depth in New Zealand netball

Tactix goal shoot Ellie Bird was sidelined in her side's 47-45 ANZ Premiership loss to the Southern Steel, as she recovers from a head knock.

Replacement shooters Jess Prosser and Hannah Glen are also out with injury, forcing coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek to bring in 30-year-old doctor Kate Grant and 17-year-old Howick College student Amelia Walmsley.

Delaney-Hoshek says the Mainland National Netball League shooters weren't considered because of their age and inexperience.

She says there is a gap.
