Business New Zealand says unless rising energy costs are dampened down, businesses will start looking overseas

Business New Zealand says unless rising energy costs are dampened down, businesses will start looking overseas

Its energy and transport survey shows significant cost increases for businesses in the past 12 months - put down to low hydro-lake levels, reduced wind generation and poor natural gas supply.

Executive director Catherine Beard says businesses need reliable and affordable energy.

She says we need to get it right - or businesses facing an uncertain future will look to invest in other countries.
