The Southern DHB's budget has blown out by more than 15-million dollars so far this year

Chief executive Chris Fleming will spell out the financial shortfall in his report to the board when the DHB meets tomorrow.
Extra costs include nearly seven-million to reimburse staff for holiday pay dating back to 2003, and 2.7 million for Covid-19.
Another one million of unbudgeted costs are for the new Dunedin Hospital.
The DHB's net deficit for May was more than 3.4 million, which was nearly 2.3 million higher than forecast.
