A Porirua man says his family's lucky to be alive after a car crashed into their house late last night

Two people are dead after the car smashed through a house on Warspite Avenue in Cannons Creak about 11.30pm.

House owner Niraj Prasad says it was a very close thing.

He says no one was hurt but he feels really sorry for the pair in the car who died.
