Good news for Dunedin residents when it comes to E.coli
14 July 2021
Tests for the bacteria in the water network supplying Waikouaiti, Karitane and Hawksbury Village have come back clear.
This comes after a positive result was found in Karitane's drinking water on Friday.
Dunedin City Council's three waters Group Manager Tom Dyer says the clear results are a good sign but more testing is needed over the next few days.
He says an investigation into the likely source of the E. coli has considered a range of possibilities, but so far no source has been confirmed.
The 'do not drink' notice remains in force for all three communities.
