A severe weather warning's in place for much of the country

Heavy rain and gales are forecast for parts of New Zealand.

They include Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, and Bay of Plenty - west of Opotiki.

The front's expected to bring a period of heavy rain to western and northern parts, including those around Buller, Nelson and Marlborough recently affected by flooding.
