Aaron Gate was originally selected for the omnium until he crashed and broke his collarbone in the team pursuit bronze medal ride-off.
Endurance coach Craig Palmer has told Sky Sport it was a gruelling 24 hours, but Stewart responded.
Meanwhile, Andrews is at her first Olympics, and had to go through the repechage to make the keirin final.
Palmer says she's meeting her potential.
