Questions for the Government -- on why Treasury changed its tune on the Government's ute tax

Questions for the Government -- on why Treasury changed its tune on the Government's ute tax

Newstalk ZB can reveal Treasury had raised concerns the clean car feebate scheme may not reduce emissions, and could hit poorer households the hardest.

Transport Minister Michael Wood syas this is old advice, which has since been updated.

But Chief Political Reporter Jason Walls says it's unclear what prompted the change in advice.

He says within a few months, Treasury went from having major concerns to being on board with the policy.
