Food prices are surging, with fruit and vegetables rising to their most expensive level in 10 years

Latest Stats NZ figures show food prices have gone up 1.3 percent last month, with produce items behind the increase.
It's on top of a five percent rise in rent prices in a year.
ANZ Chief Economist Sharon Zollner says there's been quite a lot of price inflation for basic foods.
She says it's cheaper to fill a trolley with unhealthy foods, than with fruit and vegetables.
