Jacinda Ardern says when Cabinet made recent decisions to enforce mask use at essential services, ministers also settled on how people will be expected to keep track of their movements.

But asked about details of the move - Ardern wasn't giving much away.

She says after they've thrashed out the legal work - she'll confirm exactly what record-keeping requirements will be rolled out - in the future.
