A man has been arrested in Hawkes Bay in relation to two separate serious assaults that occurred in Hastings on Thursday and yesterday

The first assault was about 11:00am on Thursday at a residential address.

One person is now recovering at home after treatment at Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital.

The second assault was at a different residential address just before 9:20 last night.

One person from that address is in Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital where they've been undergoing surgery.

A 21-year-old man is due to appear in the Hastings District Court tomorrow facing two charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to either incident..
