Justice Edwin Wylie made the ruling last night - but delayed his order by 24 hours to give the man's family an opportunity to seek suppression orders.
The terrorist's previous lawyers stated concerns for the man's family who live overseas and had yet to be contacted.
The terrorist can only be named as "S" after a suppression order was put in place in 2018 when he pleaded guilty to possessing Isis propaganda.
On Friday, the Prime Minister said she was urgently seeking the ability to reveal more about the man to the public.
