Global supply chain issues could put pressure on the festive season this year

Reports across the ditch show there are fears stores may not be able to keep shelves stocked this Christmas.

It's due to problems with international shipping - particularly out of Asia.

Cargo Owners' Council Chairman Simon Beale says New Zealand's experiencing similar problems.

He says every step of the process involved in getting items into the country presents a challenge.
