The pandemic has meant fewer container ships visiting the ports of Tauranga and Auckland.
Some businesses are ordering stock that could take months or years to arrive.
Retail NZ says the delays are affecting almost everything -- including electronics, clothing and power tools.
Two-thirds of its members are hiking prices by 7.5 per cent over the next three months to cover costs.
