    There will be a new Indycar champion this season


    Scott Dixon's opportunity to secure a record-equalling seventh title are over with his 13th place at the competition's penultimate race, won by Colton Herta, in Monterey , California.

    Dixon's teammate Alex Palou came second and extends his overall season lead to 35 points - Dixon's a further 37 points back in fourth.

    Compatriot Scott McLaughlin was 12th today, which places him 13th overall.
