There are three new mystery cases of Covid-19 in Auckland today, out of 16
25 September 2021
Three are historical cases, including a border worker who caught Covid-19 overseas but is no longer infectious.
One of the new cases is a person who turned up to Waitakere Hospital yesterday with Covid-19 symptoms then tested positive.
They're now at MIQ.
The Ministry of Health says fewer than ten patients will be monitored and tested but there was no direct contact with the Covid-19 positive patient.
A small number of staff had contact with the person, but all were wearing full PPE and are fully vaccinated.
Public health staff are doing interviews to determine this person's link to a current cluster.
Health officials say the risk to the public is low.
