One of the best forwards in the history of the game, Provan won 10 premierships as part of St George in their golden era of 1956 to 1966.
After debuting for the Dragons in 1951, he played 256 games for the club as well as 19 matches for NSW and 14 Tests for Australia.
Provan's image still remains in the game today, as part of the NRL's trophy alongside Western Suburbs rival Arthur Summons.
He was named in Australian rugby league's team of the century in 2008 and was elevated to immortal status in 2018.
