    Growing up in Wellington has paid dividends for golfer Daniel Hillier in the second round of the European Challenge Tour event in Spain overnight


    He's negotiated a four-under 67 to move to a tie for ninth on four-under par, six shots off the pace.

    The top 45 at the end of the tournament qualify for the season ending tour finals and a chance to secure a full European Tour card.

    Hillier is currently projected at 42nd.
