Canterbury have suffered a surprise third-successive loss in the NPC

Canterbury have suffered a surprise third-successive loss in the NPC

The red and blacks have fallen at the hands of Otago 22-20 in Dunedin.

Josh Ioane kicked the Razorbacks to victory with 17 points off the tee, including a late go-ahead penalty from near the touchline.

As a result Canterbury are fifth on the premiership table, two points behind fourth-place Tasman who are yet to play this weekend.

The Mako are also the side Canterbury play next week, which could end a three-game skid, or hand them a fourth consecutive defeat.

Otago are third in the championship.
