Two new cases in the same household have been found in Christchurch - linked to a pair of cases reported yesterday.
So far, 13 close contacts are linked to the initial cases, which is good news according to a Covid modeller.
But Canterbury University's Michael Plank says it's concerning the pair may have been infectious for nearly two weeks.
He says they could have easily passed the virus on before they developed symptoms -- and infected dozens of people.
There are 125 new community cases today in total - with 118 in Auckland, four in Waikato and one in Northland.
More than 30-thousand tests have been run in the past 24 hours - and over 44-thousand vaccines administered.
