    There's been a serious crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, in Canterbury


    Emergency services have been sent to State Highway One, in Rakaia.

    Police were notified of the crash around 6.30am.

    They say indications are, one person has been seriously injured.

    The road's closed and traffic management is being put in place.

    Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
