    A person has died after jumping of a bridge into a river in Taranaki last night

    A person has died after jumping of a bridge into a river in Taranaki last night


    Police were called to the scene at the Waiwhakaiho River just before 7pm.

    They say the person jumped into the water but failed to resurface.

    An extensive search was carried out and their body was discovered a few hours later at the river mouth.
