Australia and New Zealand have signed legally binding participation agreements to attend the now delayed Rugby League World Cup, to be staged in England in 2022

Australia and New Zealand have signed legally binding participation agreements to attend the now delayed Rugby League World Cup, to be staged in England in 2022

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

It comes 100 days after both countries pulled out of the tournament with little notice, which was initially supposed to be held in October and November this year.

A new schedule has been released, with the tournament starting a week earlier to avoid a clash with the FIFA World Cup, but with the same order of fixtures.

World Cup bosses will fly to Australia in January to meet with NRL clubs over biosecurity issues.

Organisers are also considering having warm-up matches in Australia in a bid to make life easier for nations made up of NRL players, or will otherwise fly players to England as they exit the league.
