Frustration from businesses -- that are likely to spend another few weeks closed to customers in Auckland

Frustration from businesses -- that are likely to spend another few weeks closed to customers in Auckland

Cabinet will decide this afternoon whether to move the region to Step Three restrictions this week -- allowing bars, restaurants and hairdressers to reopen with public health measures in place.

But Jacinda Ardern says she doesn't expect any move, as the traffic light system is "not too far away".

Cook Brothers Hospitality Group Managing Director James Arnott says he doesn't think the Government realises how much every week of closure, is costing every business that's forced to stay closed.

He says the lockdown has cost them up to five million dollars, and has taken a major toll on morale.

The traffic light system could be rolled out nationwide as soon as next week.
