Christchurch City Council is still working to reduce the smell from Bromley's wastewater treatment plant
31 January 2022
Residents on the east of the city have been putting up with a strong stench after the plant caught fire in November.
Two trickling filters were destroyed, meaning the odour from the oxidation ponds has worsened.
Mayor Lianne Dalziel says they're on track to finish modifications, which should improve the smell, by the end of March.
She says they will be installing aerators, once they arrive in the city next week.
