Over at Eden Park it was an extremely tight affair as the Blues prevailed 24-22 over the Chiefs, for their first victory.
Bryn Gatland missed what would've been the match-winning penalty with time up - so it was a bittersweet winning feeling - for Blues coach Leon Macdonald.
Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan felt that missed kick was just one of a few chances they had to win the game.
Blues midfielder Roger Tuivasa-Sheck left the field at halftime with a shoulder or arm injury - and is undergoing scans.
