Costa Rica have been confirmed as the All Whites' intercontinental playoff opponent for a spot at this year's Football World Cup

Costa Rica have been confirmed as the All Whites' intercontinental playoff opponent for a spot at this year's Football World Cup

The Central Americans have finished fourth in the CONCACAF qualification tournament to progress to the one-off match.

Costa Rica finished their campaign with a 2-nil win over the United States, having needed a six goal win to leapfrog the USA into the automatic spots.

All Blacks and Blues prop Nepo Laulala will enter remedial work to fix his tackle clean-out technique after copping a three week ban from Super Rugby.

Laulala was shown a red card in the midweek win over Moana Pasifika for the shoulder-to-head hit.

Blues assistant coach Tom Coventry says he'll have to re-learn some tackle behaviours.

Lydia Ko's coach is backing his star charge to contend for a third golf major at the Chevron Championship starting in California tomorrow.
