The Health Ministry says delays are caused when a person is discovered as having the virus only after they have died.
The deceased include a person in their 30s, three in their 60s, eight in their 70s, three in their 80s and three over the age of 90.
It takes the total of publicly reported Covid-19 deaths in New Zealand to 396.
Today, there are eight-thousand-810 new cases - and 690 virus patients are in hospital.
