    National's Covid spokesman has thanked outgoing Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield for his work


    Bloomfield's term expires in June next year... but he's leaving a year early, saying he feels New Zealand is in a good place when it comes to Covid-19.

    Chris Bishop says his Party recognises his contribution.

    He says Bloomfield has worked incredibly hard for the last couple of years on the Covid-19 response.

    Bishop says he's made a steadfast commitment to New Zealand and National acknowledges his service.
