The highway's largest bridge Te Ara a Toa is raising concerns around loud clunking noises.
They're disturbing residents in the nearby Takapu Valley.
Takapu Valley resident Rob Suisted says it's a big issue for the community.
He says you can kind of get used to road noise ... but the 'bridge's clunking' is different because it's random and it echoes.
Ohariu MP Greg O' Connor plans to meet with residents over the next couple of days, to experience the issues for himself.
A spokesperson for the company managing the highway - Ventia - says at the moment there are no plans to mitigate the noise.
