The Infrastructure Commission's today released its first 30-year strategy

The 68 recommendations were compiled over two years, after consulting with more than 200-thousand Kiwis.
It finds electricity generation capacity needs to increase some 170 percent to meet our net zero carbon goals -- fixing water networks will cost about 90-billion-dollars -- and about five-billion-dollars of local infrastructure is vulnerable to rising seas.
Finance Minister Grant Robertson says we can't build our way out of the gaping infrastructure hole -- which the report reveals will cost 31-billion-dollars a year.
The Government will release its response to the plan in September.
