William and Shaun Burr have been found not guilty on multiple charges - after being accused of cutting off a teen burglar's finger, and punching and kicking him on the ground.
It was the fourth time the intruder had burgled the home, and he had hit William over the head with a wine bottle.
Waikato Federated Farmers President Jacqui Hahn says she can sympathise with their emotions.
She says there's building frustration with burglary, especially if the perpetrator is known to the victim.
