Another violent incident in Tauranga...as detectives investigate the death of a man last night

An employee at the Bayfair Shopping Centre has been bashed by a group of young thugs, near the Farm Street bus interchange.

It happened yesterday, as the man was taking his afternoon break just after 3pm.

Police believe the offenders ran back into the centre, leaving their victim with a significant eye injury.

The Farm Street area was busy at the time and anyone who saw what happened is being asked to contact Police.
