A man's due in court in Hastings tomorrow, after the discovery of body in a forest on Northland's west coast

The body of Waimamaku woman Gaelene Bright has been found in the Waipoua Forest.

The 69-year-old was last seen leaving a friend's house in the small Hokianga settlement on May 1.

Formal identification is still underway -- and a scene examination in the forest and at the victim's home is expected to take some time.

A 65-year-old man was arrested yesterday afternoon, and charged with her murder.
