    The Wellington Phoenix have been denied the opportunity to bring some extra games to New Zealand in the upcoming A-League season


    The Kiwi team will enjoy 12 home matches, with one to be taken to Wollongong as a thank you for hosting the Nix for the past two years.

    CEO David Dome says they were hopeful of other A-League clubs hosting home games against the Phoenix on this side of the Tasman, but stadium availability scuppered that.



    The Phoenix's campaign begins in Wellington against Adelaide United on October 9.
