Outgoing National Party President Peter Goodfellow says he's honoured to have held the position for 13 years

Outgoing National Party President Peter Goodfellow says he's honoured to have held the position for 13 years

In June, Mr Goodfellow announced he wouldn't seek re-election - which takes place this month = but will remain on the party's board.

Speaking at the party's annual conference today, Mr Goodfellow said he's proud of the work done to make National stronger, broader, more diverse and more inclusive.

But he says that they haven't always got it right, or achieved the results they wanted.

Mr Goodfellow says he'll never live with regret for trying new things, embracing new technologies or trying to help the party move into the 21st century.
