    New Zealand running has a new steeplechase king


    George Beamish has claimed the national and Oceania 3000 metre steeplechase record after finishing fifth at the Monaco Diamond League over the weekend.

    Beamish says favourable conditions in Monaco allowed him to the previous mark set by Peter Renner 39 years ago.
