A scary moment for star track cyclist Ellesse Andrews at the Nations Cup event in Adelaide..

Andrews' heavy fall onto her right side came in the semifinals of the women's sprint on day two of the event across the ditch.

While in visible pain, she was soon helped to her feet - before receiving medial treatment and leaving the track to undergo further tests.

The reigning world champ and Olympic silver medallist in the keirin - and winner of three gold medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games - Andrews is set to be one of New Zealand's big hopes for medals on the track at this year's Paris Olympics.

Elsewhere - points race world champion Aaron Gate produced a superb second half of the four-discipline men's omnium to finish just out of the medals in fourth.
