Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown is welcoming Government support for key parts of his agenda

It's committed to give Auckland Council control over the Regional Land Transport plan.

Brown says it will give Council a greater say in spending ratepayer money on the city's transport.

Other wins include a recommitment to introducing time-of-use charging and letting Auckland pursue changes around housing density.

The ideas come from Brown's Auckland Manifesto - which he released during last year's election.
